SUPERVISION

Supervision is a joint endeavour in which a practitioner, with the help of a supervisor, attends to their clients, themselves as part of their client-practitioner relationships and the wider systemic and ecological contexts, and by so doing improves the quality of their work, transforms their client relationships, continuously develops themselves their practice and the wider profession. (Hawkins and McMahon, Supervising in the helping professions, 2020)

Following successful completion of a Level 6 Certificate in Therapeutic Counselling Supervision, I am delighted to now be offering clinical supervision to practicing and trainee counsellors and psychotherapists.

I use an integrative supervision framework which combines the three-step model of van Ooijen (2003) and seven-eyed model of Hawkins and Shohet (2020) models, which I find brings structure and focus to the sessions but also retains visibility of the bigger, systemic picture. My style is supportive and encouraging but I also like to challenge my supervisees. I can also offer group supervision to groups of up to four supervisees. Supervision can be face-to-face or online, and I can offer the full 90 minutes per month supervision required by BACP, or shorter sessions if supervisees prefer a blended supervision approach.

Please contact me to arrange an initial meeting (free of charge) to discuss your supervision needs.
